What is a skin analysis appointment?

When you come in for skin analysis at The Malvern, you will be greeted by clinic practioner, Yvette, who will introduce you to a visiting skin expert from the International Institute for Active Ageing. They will help explain the scanning process to you and answer any questions you may have. They will then take high fidelity optical scans of your face using the Launchpad device and TEWL probe (both seen below).

The Eventis skin expert will use these scans to analyse various measures of your skin's health and provide you with individual insights and a skincare plan to help you take the right action. Skin analysis is one of the best and most underutilised first steps towards building a reliable and effective skincare regime.

You will also be introduced to the Eventis app, where you can revisit and track your results, view educational content and skin advice, and shop for products that are tailored to your skin's needs.

How much does it cost?

Skin analysis appointments cost only £30 and usually take about 45 minutes. The £30 charge is fully redeemable against any recommended product purchase or Environ facial booked on the day.

Our skin analysis events have proved very popular so far and we are working to make more days available for analysis. The last skin analysis day took place on 12 May. New event dates will be announced here and on our social media platforms.

What is Eventis?

Eventis is a state-of-the art skin analysis platform that helps you and skincare professionals (like us!) to analyse exactly what your skin needs and gives you a personalised product and treatment plan to achieve your skin health goals.

Central to this process is a device called Launchpad. It uses a high fidelty, specialised camera to take natural, redness and UV images of your skin. We can then use those images, alongside a TEWL Probe to produce a comprehensive picture of your skin health.

What do the scans and tests show?

The natural pictures show the top layer of the skin and therefore anything that is visible to the naked eye. The redness images show any inflammation, capillaries or sensitivity within the skin, this might be visible to the naked eye or might be in the deeper layers of the skin. Lastly, the UV images show any areas of pigmentation, again these can be visible to the eye or might be in the deeper layers.

The TEWL probe is a sophisticated tool that measures moisture loss and hydration levels in the layers of the skin, which gives us detailed insights into skin integrity and barrier function. The human skin loses on average 300-400ml per day. We use the TEWL probe to monitor the water evaporating from the skin.

What can Eventis tell me about my skin?

Eventis helps us to uncover your skin concerns and goals so that you only use skincare that will benefit you. There are more and more different skin products entering the market every day, and that's great! But they all do soemthing different and not everything will suit your skin. By taking these scans, and following up with repeat scans we can personalise your skincare and track real progress. Building a personalised product and treatment plan can also help support active ageing.

How does it track my changes?

Your skin analysis images and TEWL readings will be safely stored in the cloud which can then be utilised during each consultation so that images and TEWL readings are comparable. You will also be able to access all images on your app where you can compare the first consultation with your latest visit and see your TEWL readings and the progress.

What if my readings are wrong?

Eventis takes unedited, raw images of your skin, while the TEWL probe is the same as the one used in scientific clinical trials. This makes sure your results are as accurate as possible.

Privacy.

All information you provide to us will be stored in the secure Eventis servers and GCP Cloud

Available skincare products.

Eventis skin analysis appointments always reccomend products produced by the International Institute for Active Ageing (iiaa). These include Environ (skincare), Advanced Nutrition Programme (suplements), and Et Al. (makeup).

Many of these products are available in clinic, and the £30 charge for Eventis scans and analysis is fully redeemable against these products. There is no pressure to buy anything – your skin expert will suggest the products best suited to your skin and for the concerns identified within the consultation. Via the Eventis app you will be able to view your suggested product plan and read about each product in more detail so that you can decide and order at a later date.
